Peru receives flights from numerous worldwide destinations including Europe, North America and Asia.

Although not quite on the same scale as Brazil or Argentina, Peru is still a big country and taking internal flights within the country is a convenient means of getting around. There are at least a dozen airports in Peru that provide fast access to difficult-to-reach parts of Peru, with services operated by several small airlines and Peru’s flag carrier, Aero Continente.

Most international flights come in from major US and Latin American cities, while passengers coming from
EuropeAsia or Australia will usually have to change planes at MiamiLos Angeles or New York. International flights land at Iquitos in the dense Amazon region, while Cuzco also receives flights from the Bolivian city of La Paz.

Lima-Callao/Chavez International Airport caters for five-million passengers per year and is without doubt Peru’s largest and most well-equipped airport. Chavez International receives flights from numerous worldwide destinations including
EuropeNorth America and Asia. A single terminal serves both domestic and international arrivals and departures.

As the principle gateway to Peru, Lima-Callao/Chavez International Airport is served by many major airlines including Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentinas, Continental, Delta Air Lines, Iberia, KLM, LAN Peru, Lufthansa and VARIG Brazilian. Buses provide access to central Lima from the airport, while taxis are also available.
